We are all caught up in Do-ing
So much so that is has become normal for most, that in order to achieve anything we need to do something.
Most would never question this, after all, how else are we to survive in this fast paced world where achieving something is all important.
Achieving; shelter, food, security, wealth, love, no matter what, it all takes energy to achieve these things.
Well, it does from the accepted point of view, and that is where most people are coming from. For most it is impossible to imagine any other way to operate on this planet.
Even for those who begin to explore the possibilities that there could be another way, the challenges, obstacles and belief patterns built into the system are hard to overcome.
Consider for a moment, upon what are your lives built. Explore your past, question beliefs, perceptions, values. Where did they, the personal values come from?
Try taking an. In depth look at your values? Be as objective as you can. Be as honest with yourself as possible.
Eventually you may ask, who then am I? Surely the answer to that is I am a product of all that went before me.
What conditioned me this way? Surely, at first glance it would be your parents / siblings / environment where you were raised. And who were they, these parents / siblings of yours?
Where did they come from? They, in turn, must have been products of their past experiences. No matter how far ‘back’ you go, you should come up with the same answers.
It then seems as though planet earth has, or is perceived to have, certain ‘rules’ or conditions that are requirements, or pre-requisites for survival. History books, myths, even modern day movies, all depict humanity in a constant sate of doing in order to survive.
So, it then appears that this ‘programming’ has been around for a very long time. Since few ever question the validity of this process, it has become accepted as the reality in which we operate.
Now, assuming you have got this far reading this and you are following the thread. The question you should now ask is if religions, civilisations, beliefs, come and go, what were they ‘made’ of in the first place. They survive for a while then fade or get taken over by different religions, civilisations, beliefs.
But, what were they made of?
Ideas, perceptions, beliefs. Any or all of the above.
Who were the originators of said ideas, perceptions, beliefs?
The originators, if my opening suspicions were correct, must have been people of the time, themselves shaped by their past, simply projecting their current ideas, perceptions and beliefs into the story book that is life on planet Earth.
Now it should start to become obvious that everything that we perceive, that we ‘buy into’ that we continually give energy to is based upon a story that has been overlaid upon an earlier story, No matter how far back you go, our very passage through life on Earth has been based upon a story.
One person, or group of people think their story is better than yours. More right, more just, more profitable? Then the usual pattern unfolds as one section of humanity tries to impose their values on another part of humanity. Conflict is inevitable.
My story is ‘right’ yours is ‘wrong’.
Ergo I need to ‘do’ something to make sure my story comes out on top.
To be continued.
